Mayfield School is a historic Roman Catholic girls’ boarding and day school with a 150-year legacy. Nestled in the heart of the High Weald, within the beautiful and tranquil county of Sussex, the school covers a campus area of 75 acres. It is just 50 miles from central London, with a train journey of approximately 30 minutes. By car, it takes 30 minutes to reach London Gatwick Airport and 1 hour to London Heathrow Airport.
02 Outstanding Academic Achievements

Mayfield School boasts exceptional academic results, along with a range of excellent academic programs and diverse extracurricular activities. In the latest ISI (Independent Schools Inspectorate) report, Mayfield School’s teaching quality was rated outstanding, and Country Life Magazine described it as “One of the finest schools in the land”.
The school’s 2020 A-Level and GCSE exam results are as follows:
A-Level
75% of grades were A*-A, representing a 20% increase from the previous year.
Pass rate reached 100%.
Students successfully gained admission to a range of top universities, including the University of Oxford, Imperial College London, University College London, Durham University, the University of Edinburgh, and the University of Exeter.
GCSE
The school also delivered excellent GCSE results: over 45% of grades were 9-8 (equivalent to A*).
The proportion of grades 9-7 (equivalent to A*/A) reached nearly 69%.
Pass rate (A*-C) was 100%.

Mayfield requires all students to study 3 science subjects at GCSE, at least one language, and select Religious Studies, Mathematics, and English as their other three subjects.
The school excels particularly in Mathematics, with many students achieving the exceptional grade of A^ (a level higher than A*).
Mayfield’s Ceramic Department is highly renowned, and its ceramic works have been exhibited in multiple locations.
