The 2020 Langsheng Education Graduation Season Event concluded successfully last weekend. The event was packed with valuable insights and laughter. Today, we will continue to share the wonderful content from two of the guest speakers.
- Student Sun – A Dynamic and Sharing Talented Young Lady

Student Sun is currently studying at Concord College (UK), a renowned private boarding school in the UK. Initially, she developed a love for British culture through a British TV drama. Later, a study-abroad exchange program further solidified her determination to pursue her studies in the UK. During the two-month exchange program, she deeply felt that the British teaching model emphasizes acquiring knowledge through practice – while learning various historical knowledge, students are also trained to develop critical thinking. British education places particular emphasis on the development of humanities and social sciences, guiding students to apply critical thinking through reading to analyze problems and solve practical issues.
Student Sun also used a real-life example to help the students present understand the true meaning of critical thinking in a simple and straightforward way.
As someone good at summarizing, she shared 5 common "detours" that international students often take, based on her own experience – this is of great reference value for students who are about to study abroad.
- Language Barriers: She encouraged students to be brave enough to speak English, read as many English books as possible, watch more original English movies, and communicate more with British friends.
- Overcoming Procrastination: Many students, when first arriving abroad and free from their parents’ supervision, become addicted to mobile phones and the internet, leading to a decline in academic performance. Therefore, international students must plan their study time well and ensure "today’s work is done today".
- Socializing is Part of International Student Life: She shared some social skills on-site, which benefited the students present a lot.
- Choosing GCSE Courses: The range of courses available at the GCSE stage is very diverse. Students can try different subjects and choose those they like, but they must be cautious when making the final subject selection.
- Embrace Diverse Opinions Without Blind Obedience: It is acceptable to argue, but avoid meaningless quarrels.
Finally, she listed some common mistakes and suggestions for life in the UK, and thoughtfully showed the students and parents present her luggage list from when she went abroad. She then presented various rich and interesting activities at Concord College, which amazed the students.
Thanks to Student Sun for selflessly sharing her international student life. The guests listened with great interest and still wanted more after the sharing.
Student Liu – A Talented Top Student at the University of Oxford
Student Liu is an outstanding undergraduate majoring in Physics at the University of Oxford. At the beginning of his sharing, he introduced some of the University of Oxford’s unique colleges. The rest of his sharing focused on life at the University of Oxford.
The dress code at the University of Oxford is quite distinctive. As shown in the picture below, when two students put on this full set of academic attire, they exude a strong academic atmosphere and look very solemn. This set of attire also has a special name – "Sub fusc". The robe in the middle of the picture can only be worn by students who rank first in their exams, which is definitely a dream outfit for many Oxford students.
Next, he introduced the "formal dinner" at the University of Oxford. Good food is a cure for the mood, especially for overseas students with heavy academic workloads. Therefore, when Student Liu showed the audience pictures of his college’s dining hall and the food served there, it aroused the students’ ambition – many of them expressed their desire to apply for the University of Oxford in the future.
The exam requirements at the University of Oxford are also unique. During exam weeks, all candidates must wear the full "Sub fusc" mentioned above. Carnations are also a must for exams – students need to prepare three colors: white, pink, and red. A white carnation is worn for the first exam, pink carnations for all middle exams, and a red carnation for the final exam. This unique tradition is truly remarkable.
Student Liu also shared his daily schedule, letting everyone see how a top Oxford student spends his day. We can find that top students share common traits: extremely high self-discipline, a complete study plan, and a highly rigorous attitude towards learning.
Moreover, Student Liu shared his study tip – "lecture notes" – so the students present gained a lot from this.
To obtain the same daily schedule and lecture notes as this top Oxford student, please follow our official WeChat account and request them via a private message.
Finally, Student Liu summarized his study and life at the University of Oxford in a humorous and witty way, saying, "If you choose the right school, every final exam feels like the National College Entrance Examination (Gaokao)." His relaxed style and content-rich speech won warm applause from the audience.
The sharing from both guest speakers was full of valuable insights and truly wonderful. Today’s sharing about these two speakers comes to an end for now – please stay tuned for our follow-up reports!
