Concord College is a top independent boarding school in the southwest of the UK. It is located in Darwin’s hometown Shrewsbury, with strong cultural heritage, safe environment and beautiful scenery. Concord College is experienced in helping students apply to the prestigious universities. With the help from teachers, each year a large number of Concord students obtain the offers from their dream universities, including University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, London Scgehool of Economics and Political Science, Imperial College London, University Colle London, and etc. During the last two years, Concord students have received 41 offers from Oxford and Cambridge, 41 offers from Imperial College London, 32 offers from London School of Economics and Political Science, and 58 offers form University of London.

Concord College- Summer School for University Preparation Programmes

In order to help more students to fully stimulate their potential and apply to the dream schools, Concord College has opened up its resources to provide more students with specialized training courses on application for majors in medicine, natural sciences, engineering, and philosophy, politics and economics (PPE) of top universities. All courses are designed by the experienced teachers, and Concord College invited professors from top UK universities to give guest lectures to all the students (16-18 years old) who want to apply to the top universities in the UK. The two-week intensive courses will greatly enhance students’ competitiveness. On one hand, the students will have a better understanding of the preparation process. On the other hand, their comprehensive strength is also enhanced in the training process.

The programmes offer four courses to meet the different needs of different students: medicine, natural science, engineering, and philosophy, politics and economics. From all the courses, the students will receive the training as follows:

Teachers from Oxford, Cambridge and other top universities will give lessons:

University entrance exam preparation guidance (BMAT, UKCAT, LNAT, MAT, TSA, STEP, PAT, HAT);

Interview preparation (including MMI training for medical students and UCAS application guidance)

A field trip to Oxford and Cambridge where students will have a one-night accommodation in the university;

Law

An exciting programme?for students interested in pursuing law at university. Speakers include law lecturers from the UK’s top universities, and leading barristers and solicitors who will challenge students with university level lectures and master classes.

Economics with Politics and Philosophy

This course is open to all the students who want to study PPE in the future. The major has great competitive pressure in the university application process, but most of the graduates of this major have very promising career development. Concord College will arrange the academic lectures and master classes to give the students a more comprehensive understanding of PPE subject, aiming to motivate students to get into their dream universities.

Medicine

The course will take place during the first two weeks of July each year. This course is designed for the students who want to study medicine at universities in the future. Concord College will particularly invite medical teachers, attending physician and surgeons from the top UK universities to teach the students, and the students will practice in the laboratory.

Natural Science

This course is designed for the students who want to study natural sciences at the universities, including biology, chemistry and earth sciences. Concord College will specially invite the teachers of natural science from the top UK universities to teach the students, including the same level of the lectures and master classes at the university level.

Engineering

The course will take place during the first two weeks of August each year. This course is designed for the students who want to study engineering, mathematical engineering and physical engineering at the universities. Concord College will specially invite the teachers from the top UK universities to teach the classes in physics, astrophysics, computer and engineering. Meanwhile, Concord College will invite a number of industry experts to guide students in exploring future career paths and interest directions.
