Culford School
Culford School, founded in 1881, is a boarding school located in Calford Garden, Berry St. Edmonds, Suffolk, northeast London. As one of the prestigious members of the Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference, Culford School is located close to London and there are many roads leading directly to international airports. The school covers an area of 480 acres with an open landscape and beautiful environment.
In Culford, the students are separated into pre-prep, prep and senior schools. They all have their own teaching facilities and are managed by different principals respectively. At present, there are 683 students in Culford, including 71 in pre-prep school classes (3-6 years old), 242 in prep school (7-12 years old) including 50 boarders, and 370 in senior school (13-17 years old) including 200 boarders. And the overseas students account for 47% of the boarders. In the senior school, the proportion of Chinese students is 10%. Culford has a beautiful environment and relaxed atmosphere; life here is fast-paced and fulfilling with a series of advanced teaching facilities and broad space for students’ development. The school attaches great importance to the individual needs and aspirations of every student. Whether they aspire to attend the Department of Mathematics at Cambridge, the Department of Electronic Engineering at Imperial College London, or any other major in other universities, the school devotes itself to training and help them get into the ideal university.
Excellent Academic Performance
In the A-level exam in 2018, Culford students achieved great results. 22% of the grades were A*/A, 45% were A*-B, 71% were A*-C. In the exam of GCSE, Culford students also got excellent results. 47% were A*-A. And the overall pass rates are as follows: A*-A/Grade 9-7 is 47%; A*-B/Grade 9-6 is 68%; A*-C/Grade 9-4 is 93%. In recent years, graduates have got into University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, Durham University, University of Bristol, King's College London, University of Manchester, University of Surrey, University of Sussex and other well-known universities.

Culford School is a boarding school located in a 480-acre beautiful forest area near Bury St Edmunds. It is only 2 hour and 40 minutes’ drive to London and Cambridge. Meanwhile, from school you can directly go to the Heathrow and Gatwick airport in London, and also it’s only 40 minutes' drive to Stansted airport.
There are many subjects to learn at the school. Most students study 7 to 10 GCSE subjects and 3 to 4 A-Level subjects. Calford School’s academic curriculum is mainly based on the national education curriculum. It consists of more than 20 subjects, such as Art and Design, Business Research, Economics, English Literature, Geography, History, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Latin, Drama, Design Technology. And it also includes additional cultural and intellectual research activities. In addition, personal and social education and career counseling are included in the curriculum.
