St. Swithun’ s School, located in Winchester, Hampshire, is a boarding and day school for girls. It was founded in 1884 by Ms. Anna Bramston. The school is named after the Bishop of Winchester and St. Swithun, the patron saint of Winchester Cathedral. It has a prep school and a senior school, which means the student can study here from kindergarten to Year 13. The school offers three options for the girls aged 11 to 18: day, semi-boarding, full-boarding. Meanwhile, the prep school is open for the girls aged 3-11 and boys below 7 years old. 
 
Excellent Academic Performance
St. Swithun’s school has a great academic reputation. In the GCSE exam of 2011, the school topped Winchester’s school ranking with a 100% pass rate. At the same time, all the students who took the exam got at least 5 A*-C, surpassing Winchester College. It also broke the record with 11 girls getting 3 or more A*. Since 2000, the school has maintained the 100% passing rate both in GCSE and A-level. 
    In the A-level exams of 2018, half of the students got at least one A*, 1/4 of them got 2 or more A*, which are all better than last year. And the result of A*/A is also better than that of last year. 46% of the students got AAA or better grades, 62% got AAB or better grades. All A-level scores in the following 10 subjects are within the A*-B range: Ancient Civilization, English Literature, Food Technology, French, German, Greek, History, Art History, Latin and Religious Studies. This year's graduates have got into Oxford, Cambridge, Bristol, Cardiff, Durham, Edinburgh, Exeter, Imperial, KCL, Leeds, LSE, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham, UCL, Warwick, etc. In the GCSE examinations of 2018, 29.5% of the subjects scored the highest score of 9 points under the new scoring system, compared with the national average of 4.3%. Half of the students scored five or more A*/9, and three students scored A*/9 in all subjects.

St. Swithun’s School is a registered institution under the control of the school council. Located in the suburb of Winchester, with an area of 45 acres, it is only 50-minute train ride to the central London. There are about 510 girls aged 11 to 18 in this school, where the excellent academic teaching and sports leisure facilities are provided to enrich extra-curricular life. The senior school provides 6 houses for 225 full-boarding and semi-boarding students. In the school there are modern and well-equipped teaching buildings, such as the regular classrooms and science laboratories. In addition, there are also a performing art centre with a capacity of 600 people, music school, art and technology buildings, stadiums,a swimming pool, sports courts, tennis courts and beautiful gardens.
